One of the more obtainable 1830 Small O die pairings in Mint State, this Gem example is overlaid in blue and yellow-gold pastel toning on the obverse, and the reverse incorporates deeper aqua and orange-rose shades. Graded MS65 by PCGS and CAC approved. A truly gorgeous and affordable coin for the Bust Half Dollar aficionado!
This Overton variety is recognized by a barely perceptible “cross” in Liberty’s forelock between the upper and lower portions and light recutting on the upright of the 5 in the denomination on the reverse. Some light die clashing is also noted on this specimen.
